Taking off to Newquay last weekend to see how my balance translates from a bicycle on to a surfboard, I was particularly excited about one item I was taking with me. Bicycle, is a new book by illustrator Ugo Gattoni. For the cycling enthusiast, it is nothing short of a visual feast.
The experience of looking through, is akin to that childhood joy of a Where’s Wally book. As you trace a cycle race like no other through the streets of London, you discover something exciting in every centimetre of the page.
All the famous sights are in there. Tower Bridge, Regent Street and the Olympic Stadium are all interweaved together and illustrated in painful detail. I can only imagine the hours of work that must have gone in to this by Ugo Gattoni.
If you want to lose yourself in the book then you can get a copy from the Nobrow website: http://www.nobrow.net/9193
There’s also a book signing happening on Thursday the 9th August from 6pm till 8pm at Nobrow Shop, 62 Great Eastern Street, London EC2A 3QR.

Bought it – definitely some fun to be had staring at this for a few hours. Then it’ll take pride of place on top of the living room bookcase.
