At 11am tomorrow (Sunday 18th of September) the Tour of Britain is returning to central London. This is the grand finale and there’s a good chance to take a look at it along the route.
The route takes in Big Ben, Trafalgar Square and the Tower of London. On the day they’ll be a time trial, a charity ride for Prostate Cancer and of course, the closing race which will cover 8 laps of the circuit.
The start point is near Whitehall, just outside Downing Street.

I ended up cycling on this route totally unintentionally on Sunday, as I go to church at Westminster Cathedral so was enjoying a quiet Sunday morning ride in from the east, when it turned out that the City of London had most considerately cleared my path for me! They let me ride home that way too with the promise of being off the route by 10.30 am.

If only we could have pleasant surprises like that every day!
