As we’re nearing the end of week 2 of the London Cycle Challenge the 53 strong team is sat around the middle of the board in the 51-100 members category. Between us we’ve burnt 825 delicious cupcakes!
I’ve been thoroughly enjoying the abuse I’ve been getting for being away for the past week and thus failing to clock in any miles:
“My feeling is that Andreas has made such a killing on his exo App sales that he is now in the South of France driving a Porsche. Memories of biking in London are becoming a fading memory ……. perhaps ……. ?????” –Bilboben
I can safely confirm I’ve not retired to the South of France and driving a Porsche. It’s a Lambo and it’s in the North of Italy.
But next week I’ll be back with a vengeance so I’ll soon be shunning my Newbie badge in favour of one of the Cycle Champion badges!
How is everyone finding the challenge?
If you are not yet logging your miles then join here < we need 47 new members!

I’m falling a bit behind where I would like to as I’ve had a few days off cycling that I would normally be cycling.
As I’ve now done the L2B I’m cycling less at the weekends as well…
I’ll try to get some extra miles in other than the commuting but next few weekends are very full.
Sorry team!

That’s okay – I’ve been behind too! I clocked my first few more miles yesterday and today I’ve got a few jobs around London that should clock the miles up nicely.

We won the small company award in 2009 – it’s well worth it, we had an afternoon in the hospitality tent during Skyride 🙂
Andreas says
Ooooh – hopefully they’ll be some prizes for our group too!

I’ve found my weekend rides involving time killing extra mileage, which ithe commute’s gone up by a staggering 1 mile in the last few days (from 49!) as I’d rather wind my way around an industrial estate than sit waiting for the most useless (and absurdly arranged) set of temporary lights to change!
Just commutting mileage will help the team out, there’s room for many more in the sector we’ve just moved into, please take a few minutes to sign up and add your miles in (I presume you can retrospectively add in your mileage from the past two weeks too?!) There’s 53 of us right now, so if we all do 20 miles this weekend that’s more than 1k on the total! It’s also nice to see how your pedalling converts to calorie burning – I scoff loads of cakes etc at work (well, I’d rather eat a homemade flapjack laden with fruit and nuts than just the nuts or energy bars…) yet I seem to burn more than I eat (although I don’t really do cupcakes (they’d never survive the battering in the bikebins from the roads!)
