We’re rapidly approaching the release date of the new London Cyclist app that contains 30 amazing cycling routes in London. If the weather today is anything to go by then it can’t come soon enough!
Videos and pictures have all been added and the routes have been fine tuned to perfection. I’ve also hired a separate agency to do our icon design to be sure it’s something you can proudly display on your iPhone.
As soon as I announced the app I got some excited emails asking if people can be part of the beta testing. This is when any bugs are ironed out because there’s nothing more annoying than merrily following a route and then the app suddenly disappears. I’ve already recruited a load of guinea pigs but I need two more.
Ideally, with different iPhone models. One iPhone 4 and one iPhone 3G. I’d also like it if these guys can provide a bit of a testimonial of what they thought of the app that I can post next week.
If you’d like to take part then please leave a comment below with your iPhone model and level of technical knowledge (from I can barely turn on my iPhone to I’ve designed my iPhone to make me my morning coffee).

Hi Andreas, I would love to take part in testing. I use a 3GS and have a fairly good technical knowledge. I use several different apps when cycling and have been looking for a decent routes app for a while. I’m training at the moment and would love some new routes to try out so it would be an ideal time.

I’d love to test. I’m on iphone 4. Keen cyclist, am breaking free of my usual routes to work and into town.
I’m technically good on iPhone, not great, haven’t needed to jailbreak it.
But work as a QA analyst (tester) in my real job so testing apps is what I do, albeit on a PC and for the largest sports betting company – so web mainly. But apps are apps.
I can post you clear bug reports and steps to recreate.
Maybe I can write you some functional test scripts for regression…

Would be really interested in trying it out, use a 3GS 8gb. Good tech knowledge generally, some in terms of app developing/design. Good graphics knowledge. And, of course, cyclist (moderately obsessive) , use my iphone with my bike all the time and love it, always trying out different apps, bits etc. Main job photojournalist, but very geeky!
3GS. Do sign me up for testing. Software is my job and I’m an advanced iPhone user too, and veteran of the various cycle navigation programs.

I’ll add my voice to requests for an Android version. Far more people own Android phones than Apple ones… I’d certainly pay for your app.
