While cycling along and thinking about how annoying drivers are I also had a little think outside the box and thought about how we cyclists must annoy drivers:
- Cycling in the middle of the road so they can’t get passed us
- Leaning on their car while they are waiting at a traffic light
- Cycling two abreast
- Skipping a red light – while the poor motorist is sat there waiting for the light just bomb it straight past them. Even better than this is where you stop at the light, get off your bike, walk across the light and then climb back on the bike and cycle off.
- Whizzing past cars stuck in traffic
- Cycling slowly when there is no room for them to overtake – they must love it!
Those are just some things that must really grind motorists gears about us cyclists! If you have any good ones, post them in a comment!

One thing I do that seems to get their goat is to use the dedicated turn lane (here in the US, it’s the left turn lane). I’ve had several people honk, a few yell at me, and one even threaten to report me to the police. I have to laugh because most of the time I outrun them through the light anyway.

Fart when you pull up next to an open car window. hahahahaaaaaaaaaa~!~!~!~!

Why can’t you grow up just a little bit? Why does it give you more pleasure when your mode of transport annoys other people? Get a life and treat car drivers as the humans they are.

I just don’t understand this…..
As BOTH a driver AND a cyclist I have to shake my head and wonder why either side always seems to want to annoy the other?
I am a driver of vehicles, short and sweet. That means I follow the rules regardless, respect the other driver/rider, and operate my vehicle responsibly and defensively.
No one owns the road, we all SHARE

I really don’t understand it, either. Although, it doesn’t surprise me that, nowadays, some people, no matter motorists or cyclists (or anything else), are so classless.

i know i know, drivers are mean/stupid sometime. but This stuff is really dumb. #1 you have to do and should when it is not safe to be over to the right. #2 is actually funny, LOL. #3 not a big deal, #4 will get you killed eventually, have fun with that one. #5 – watch out for the doors. # 5 ok I get that one. i just want to get where i’m going safely, i don’t think we need to be out there trying to piss people off, no matter what we are driving.

One of the most annoying things you can do is persist in bleeding on their hood, after they tried to cut you off and scraped their car past you, or merely passed you too close.
When you catch up to them at the light just lie down on their hood, “just for a minute”. Don’t get up until the light has gone red again. THEN walk your bike across and ride away.
Just spotted this after a search turned up your list of 50 Bike blogs. (I had seen the list before, but was then reading most of the top ones, now I need more blogs to read.)

Hey Tinker, thanks for comment. Glad you found top 50 list useful, will be updating soon!

“breathing” does it for me.
the longer I stay alive and upright, the more pissed-off the car drivers will be.

These aren’t funny or clever. They’re just dangerous and often violate traffic laws. When cycling on roads you share with motorists, you have every right to act like a car. But it’s no time to dick around either, especially since in a car vs. cyclist collision, the cyclist looses. Like blowing red lights: not only is this illegal since traffic laws (at least in my state) dictate you must wait for the light (even in crosswalks) along with the rest of traffic, but you could easily get killed by traffic coming perpendicular to your direction of travel (i.e. red light for you means a green light for someone else). I’m sure the guy who eventually runs you over with his car will be really annoyed by your clever antics; you’ll show him!

I cycle slow when they cant overtake I ear them coming fast.
I skip lights.
I cut infront of them.
I spit on cars parked like shit.
I insult them loundly when not driving properly and so on.
Thast NOTHING compared to breathing their poison.

Hahaha wow really? why is everyone talking about ‘them’ as if they are an alien race? Like most people I have a car and i also ride a bicycle.
however what i do when im on my bike is ride on the paths and cycle ways NOT the road. Im sure avid cyclists are motorists too which is why i think this argument is stupid.
One abreast is dangerous let alone two! I will be forced to run you flat with my bullbar if you get in the way.

And cyclists wonder why they get abused.

Like some of the people on here, I own both a bicycle and a car. Really, there’s nothing wrong with it. All you have to do, and I’m addressing both parties here, is follow the rules and treat others with respect. Think of it this way: it’s like putting together a jigsaw puzzle. What’s so hard about doing that? What are we doing acting so classless toward one another? Don’t get angry at me, anyone or everyone, I’m only stating a very good point.
